Transform your Laboratory
with Buehler Technology
Medical devices require materials with properties such
as biocompatibility, cell regeneration, fatigue-life,
drug-delivery and corrosion resistance. Each of these
materials presents a specific set of challenges for
metallographic preparation and analysis. Laboratories
that prepare these materials know that Buehler is
committed to providing solutions.
Take advantage of the superior features in our IsoMet®
Family of Precision Saws (top left image) to avoid
damaging your specimens or delaminating coatings.
Consistently section even the most complex materials
with confidence.
Preserve the integrity of small or fragile specimens by
selecting one of Buehler's high quality mounting
compounds. Further enhance the infiltration of a castable
epoxy with our Cast N’ Vac Vacuum Systems (second
left image). The entrapped air is evacuated from the
specimen enabling better penetration to enhance edge
retention, offer support to thin sections and preserve
porous coatings.
Let Buehler's experience be your guide for revealing all
of the metallographic details. Avoid the pitfalls of
smeared microstructures, residual deformation, and loss
of flatness with the Beta Grinder-Polisher and Vector®
Power Head (third right image). Check out Buehler's
website ( http://www.buehler.com) for education courses
and technical information including step-by-step
procedures and etchant recommendations.
The bottom image is a microstructure of an acetabular
cup composed of tantalum foam on CP titanium powder
sintered to a Ti- 6-4 substrate perfectly revealed with
Buehler technology. Etched with Weck's reagent and
viewed with polarized light in combination with a
sensitive tint filter.
