MRPC Increases
Its Capabilities
Molded Rubber Plastic Corp. (
Butler, WI), a provider of medical device components and assemblies, has
invested $2 million in cleanrooms
and molding equipment. The company recently constructed a Class
10,000, 2000-sq-ft cleanroom for
molding implantable products and
a Class 100,000 cleanroom that is
approximately 3000 sq ft. The addition boosts MRPC’s total number of
cleanrooms to four. They are used for
LSR molding, gum silicone molding,
silicone extrusion, custom rubber
Service Engineering
Expands
Service Engineering Inc. (
Greenfield, IN) is close to completing a
12,000-sq-ft expansion at its facility.
The 23% increase in productive work-space will allow room for a water-jet cutting machine, a press brake,
and a laser scanner. The company
says that the addition of these technologies will enable it to cut, bend,
and weld more efficiently. These new
resources will be made available to
Service Engineering’s manufacturing
partners and customers. The company
makes feeder bowl equipment for the
medical device industry.
Ametek Acquires
Alloy Manufacturer
Ametek Inc. (Paoli, PA) has acquired
Reading Alloys (Robesonia, PA),
a company that produces specialty
titanium master alloys and highly
engineered metal powders. Reading
Alloys joins the company as part of
its Electromechanical Group. Ametek
says that Reading Alloy’s titanium
molding, and thermoplastic molding. The company has also purchased
four new molding machines. It says
that the investment will help increase
its liquid-silicone molding and thermoplastic molding capabilities.

Perma Pure Offers
New Service
Perma Pure LLC (Toms River, NJ)
has created a new service department
for its line of gas-conditioning products for the medical industry. It offers
both in-house and on-site warranty
repair, rework, and troubleshooting. All
repairs are performed using high-quality OEM parts and returned with
a written inspection report. A call center is also available for customer use.
The service is offered for all products
manufactured by the company.
MenkeMed and Ecce Dutoit
to Distribute Stents
MenkeMED GmbH (Munich)
and Ecce Dutoit (Wommelgem, Belgium) have signed exclusive distribution deals with Allium Medical.
MenkeMED will distribute Allium’s
stents for the German and Austrian
markets, and Ecce Dutoit will distribute the stents for the Dutch and
Luxemburgian markets.
AMT Opens Indian Office

an office in Bangalore, India. The
office includes all areas of automation, engineering, training, field support, and development functions. The
company says that India is a key area

Foster Distributes
Polymers
Foster Corp. (Putnam, CT) has
become the sole North American distributor of Arkema Pebax SA01 Med,
Arkema Rilsan, and Med polyamide
11 and 12. Foster says that it is distributing the medical-grade polymers
to help companies meet USP quality standards for healthcare delivery.
Arkema Pebax SA01 Med grades are
USP Class VI–compliant block copoly-amide. Several of the Rilsan grades
also meet USP Class VI standards.
Foster produces materials based on
precise polymer technologies for a
variety of medical applications.
