RPMC Lasers Distributes
New Product
RPMC Lasers Inc. (O’Fallon, MO)
has become the North and South American distributor for high-power diode
lasers made by Jenoptik Laserdiode
GmbH (Jena, Germany). Offering an
artificial source of light, the diode
lasers have many medical applications. Through the deal, RPMC can
offer unmounted bars, conductively
cooled packages, microchannel cooled
stacks, and high-power, fiber-coupled
devices.
Ticona Plant Opens In China
Ticona Engineering Polymers (
Florence, KY), a business of Celanese Corp.
(Dallas, TX), has started a manufacturing unit at the Celanese integrated
complex in Nanjing, China. It says
the GUR ultra-high-molecular-weight
polyethylene facility will extend
its total manufacturing capability
to 90,000 tn and provide a consistent brand experience for customers
worldwide. Ticona also operates GUR
facilities in Bishop, TX, and Oberhausen, Germany.
Pilgrim’s Software
Is Selected
Pilgrim Software Inc.’s (Tampa,
FL) products have been chosen by on-
demand molecular diagnostic company
Cepheid (Sunnyvale, CA). Pilgrim says
that its SmartComplaints and Smart-CAPA software will help Cepheid
meet FDA requirements for quality
records and enhance its communication with customers. Cepheid will
use the software to create a single-source data center for its facilities in
the United States and Europe.
PolyOne Starts
Japanese Company
Provider of specialized polymer
material PolyOne Corp. (Cleveland)
has formed PolyOne Japan Kabushiki
Kaisha in Tokyo. The new business
focuses on gaining specification with
Japanese OEMs and the importation
of products for use by Japanese polymer processors. PolyOne says that
the development allows it to deliver
diversified products and services to
Japanese customers and to extend its
capabilities in Asia. ■
