Media-Separating Valves
Medical device manufacturers can
use a media-separating valve to control fluids such as anesthesia liquids
and dialysis solutions. The FAS Mi-crosol 15-mm valve’s built-in pulse-width modulation circuit delivers a
4-W power boost to open the solenoid
and reduces power to 0.4 W to keep it
open. Weighing 30 g and featuring reduced heat generation, the valve can be
densely mounted and run continuously.
No thermal insulation is required. The
valve can be used independently or as
a replacement valve in existing assemblies. Its body is made of PEEK, and
seals are available in materials that
meet standard industry requirements
for materials in contact with media.

LCD Monitor
A liquid-crystal display (LCD) color
monitor provides a high level of differentiation during diagnostic analysis, video endoscopy, and surgery. The
T24MSA001-MD has a high-definition
resolution of 1080 pixels and can be
mounted to a wall or pole using standard VESA brackets. It has a 24-V
dc power supply to integrate it with
surgical arm supports. With a brightness ratio of 400 cd/m2 and an 800:1
contrast ratio, the monitor works well
under intense lighting conditions. The
24-in. wide-screen monitor connects
via DVI-I, DVI-D, composite, Y/C, and
RGB video inputs. It supports both
NTSC and PAL. Toshiba Teli American Inc., Irvine, CA, 949/770-8354.
